October 4, 2020

Here's what will be happening on Sunday, October 4 at 2 p.m.

We'll be at the usual place at the usual time and we hope you will too!
Carl will be Coaching, with Trish Hosting.

Here is a quote from Tom T. Hall:
"The way you look for songs, you find yourself looking for little signals and clues about life and how things are."
We will do a sharing of stories with each other, taking no more than four minutes to tell. Then we can pick one of the stories and go through the steps. It'll be an adventure see how this goes.

Below are links to some materials that will enhance the workshop.

Big news!

We are working on an online fundraiser for our generous hosts, Artichoke Community Music, and we would like you to play a part. It's going to work something like this:
Make a cell phone video of yourself playing a song (or reciting a poem), send it to us, and we will present it as part of an online broadcast to be scheduled soon.
We're planning on having the loose ends pulled together by the end of the month, so if you want to contribute, don't delay.
You can upload your video to the SSV Google Drive or e-mail it to us at ssv4pdx@gmail.com. Contact Chris if you need help.

Here's what will be happening on Sunday, August 23 at 2 p.m.
We'll be at the usual place at the usual time and we hope you will too!

Bring a song/poem you are comfortable playing or reading, especially if you are ready for a practice/demo of a song/poem for a future performance or recording.

We'll play:

Key To The Highway
City of New Orleans
Six Days on the Road

By the way, if you haven't visited our Google Drive, where we keep the song sheets, e-mail Chris to receive an invitation. And, as always, please explore YouTube for different versions.

And as always, turning on your computer's, tablet's, or phone's video camera is totally up to you. If you'd rather just participate in the audio, that's okay. But do unmute long enough to tell us who you are, in case your device's name is different from yours.
