"August doldrums have struck but it wasn't a dull time for SSV PDX this afternoon. Four attendees watched a video clip featuring guitar walk-ups and walk-downs followed by demonstration and discussion. See the video here.

Then....

David Menzer sang the lyrics to 'I'm Already Falling' , a work in progress.

Deb Wesloh played a new song, 'Skeletons in My Closet', very humorous, and 'Zombies' by the Cranberries.

John Michael Smith played an original rock song, 'Sleepless Nights' and....

Ed Wales played 'Working Man Blues' and added a verse for the Working Woman, then played 'I'd Rather Drink a Hot Beer' by Dillon Carmichael.

Additional recommendations include: Watch and listen to 'Stairway to Heaven' by Nancy Wilson (Heart) at the Kennedy Center,

We had a hot time Sunday! There were five cool attendees, Carl Solomon, Deb Wesloh, Jeff Chambers, David Menzer, and Ed Wales. It was great to welcome back Carl and see familiar faces from Texas. We had a great discussion about borrowed chords and part capos. David talked about lyrics he is working on and several songs were played. Carl played 'Company of Strangers' drawing from his recent medical experience. Deb played 'Treasure Box' and more. Ed played 'Stand by Me' and 'America The Beautiful'.
